Freezing or cancelling your membership

Freezing or cancelling your membership

Freezing

Members who cannot play for a continuous period of two months or more can freeze their membership. Common reasons are injury, pregnancy, extended travel and work relocation.

  • Freezes run in whole months, minimum two, maximum six per club year.
  • Frozen months are added to the end of your membership year at no charge.
  • Court booking, coaching enrolment and ladder play are suspended while frozen.
  • Send the request through the Membership & Billing queue with the start date. For injury freezes over three months we ask for a short note from a physiotherapist or doctor.

Freezes are not backdated. A freeze starts on the first day of the month after we receive the request.

Cancelling

Membership is an annual commitment, so mid-year cancellation does not normally attract a refund. We do make exceptions for:

  • Permanent relocation more than 50km from the club
  • A medical condition that ends play for the remainder of the year
  • Bereavement

In those cases we refund the unused whole months, less a 30 administration fee. Instalment plans stop at the next unbilled instalment.

How to ask

Raise a ticket in Membership & Billing with your name, membership number and the effective date. We answer freeze and cancellation requests within two working days.
