Wet weather and court closure policy

Who decides

The duty coach or the front desk decides whether outdoor courts are playable. The decision is posted on the member portal home page and to the club's social channels, normally by 7:30am for morning play and by 3:00pm for evening play.

Outdoor courts

• Light rain - courts 1 to 4 (artificial grass) usually stay open. Courts 5 and 6 (acrylic) close, as standing water makes them slippery.
• Heavy or persistent rain - all outdoor courts close.
• Frost - courts stay closed until the surface has fully thawed. Playing on frozen artificial grass tears the fibres, so this rule is applied strictly, even in bright sunshine.
• Snow - closed. Please do not attempt to clear courts yourself.

Indoor courts

Indoor courts 7 and 8 are unaffected by weather and stay open. Demand rises sharply on wet days, so they are usually booked out within minutes of the closure notice.

What happens to your booking

Bookings on a closed court are cancelled automatically and do not count towards your booking limit. No-show penalties are never applied on a closure day.

If floodlight tokens were attached to a cancelled booking, they are refunded to your account within 24 hours. If you do not see the refund, raise a ticket in Court Bookings.

Playing anyway

Please do not move barriers or play on a court marked closed. Beyond the damage, the club's insurance does not cover play on a closed surface.
